Så alla Gerrards, Lampards och Vieiras – that’s a no no. Den här Salfordpojken dominerade er alla och vi har ynnesten att få se honom i åtminstone en handfull tävlingsmatcher till innan han lägger skorna på hyllan för gott.
Sannolikheten att han fortsätter en säsong till känns mikroskopisk med tanke på att han startat endast nio matcher på hela säsong.
Han har inte varit med i en startelva i ligan sedan december och han har inte gjort ett mål sedan september. Det lär inte blir mer spel om han kritar på för 2013/2014 heller och då tror jag hellre att han tar farväl igen än att ställas utanför truppen helt när det vankas stormatcher.
Men han har några månader kvar av sin fantastiska karriär som han kan få kröna med ytterligare en dubbel.
Är det någon jag unnar att skjuta det definitiva title-deciding målet så är det Scholesy.
Gärna i derbyt. Då kan jag tänka mig att till och med Paulie utan protester är beredd att köra en tv-intervju.

Med en nästan hel trupp har han den möjligheten och det finns inte en chans att Sunderlands fans skulle klaga om Fergie körde ett B-lag med Giggs, Scholes och Hernandez.
