Givetvis ett felaktigt val. Football Writers’ Association kriterier (”to the professional player who by precept and example is considered by a ballot of members to be the footballer of the year”) föreskriver nämligen att vinnaren inte bara ska vara bra på fotboll utan också vara ett föredöme. Och ingen kan någonsin påstå att Jamie Vardy är ett föredöme.
